● A clear, lawful pathway from enquiry to delivery

How it works.

Every Setanta guard follows the same disciplined process — from your first enquiry to a finished guard in your colours. The route differs for adults and under-18s, and we make that difference clear up front.

The process

From enquiry to a finished guard

Six steps, made in Galway. Where examination, scanning, fitting or adjustment is required, the appropriate clinical or dentist-prescribed pathway applies.

Enquiry

Tell us the player's sport, the buyer type, rough numbers and any design ideas through the pathway selector.

Confirm age & route

We confirm whether this is an adult order or an under-18 order, and set the correct route before anything else happens.

Authorised scan / prescription

Where required, a scan, impression or prescription is taken or approved through the appropriate clinical or dentist-prescribed pathway.

Lab fabrication in Galway

Éanna Callanan designs and pressure-laminates each guard by hand in his own Galway dental lab.

Delivery & care

Your guard is delivered with care and cleaning guidance, labelled by player for club and team orders.

Fit-issue route

If a fit issue arises, it is routed back to your dentist or an authorised clinician for adjustment where required.

Two routes

Adult and under-18 are handled differently

Age sets the route. Adults order through the appropriate clinical or lab pathway; every under-18 guard is dentist-prescribed lab fabrication only.

Adult players (18+)

  • ◆ Enquire as an individual, team or club
  • ◆ Examination, scan, fitting or adjustment via the appropriate clinical or lab pathway where required
  • ◆ Guard designed and made in the Galway lab
  • ◆ Delivery, care guidance and reorders from a stored model

Junior players (under-18)

  • ◆ Supplied on a dentist-prescribed lab-fabrication basis only
  • ◆ A registered dentist examines the player and takes or approves the scan or impression
  • ◆ The dentist prescribes the appliance and manages clinical fitting or adjustment
  • ◆ Setanta fabricates the guard to that prescription in Galway
Under-18 mouthguards are supplied on a lab-fabrication basis only. A registered dentist must examine the player, take or approve the scan or impression, prescribe the appliance, and manage clinical fitting or adjustment. Éanna Callanan is a Registered Clinical Dental Technician, not a dentist. Adult clinical pathways are provided in line with CDT scope.
